For fleets

Police shouldn't be your roadside assistance.

sonr is one public number and a field network for every robotaxi, delivery robot, drone and humanoid robot you put on the street. We find it, secure it, document it and bring it back.

Why now

The rules changed in 2026.

30 seconds

California's AB 1777, in force since July 1, 2026: AV companies must answer public agencies' emergency calls within 30 seconds.

$10,000

Under California's SB 1246, from July 2028, a court can order up to $10,000 per vehicle when an obstruction lasts more than 30 minutes after an official asks for a technician.

In July 2026, NHTSA wrote to every AV developer about a pattern of interference with first responders. sonr gives you hands on the scene. The legal duty stays yours.

What you get

Everything that happens after it stops.

A registry for every unit

Your fleet, mapped to visible sonr tail numbers, so a stranger can tell us exactly which machine they see. Already have serials? We map them in.

Private disengage steps

Your handling procedures go to the one person assigned to the job, for that job only, under NDA.

Records that hold up

Timestamped photos, a chain-of-custody log, the incident timeline and police report numbers, with support for FAA and NHTSA reporting.

Recovery and return

Secured, transported and returned to your depot, a service hub or your repair partner.

How a recovery runs

From a stranger's call to your depot, documented.

  1. 01

    Call

A member of the public calls 424-484-sonr or reports online.

  2. 02

    Match

The tail number points to your unit in the registry.

  3. 03

    Dispatch

The nearest qualified member is sent, with your private steps.

  4. 04

    Secure

The scene is documented and the machine made safe.

  5. 05

    Return

It goes back to your depot, hub or repair partner.

  6. 06

    Report

You get the full record, ready for insurers, police and regulators.

Who shows up

Three tiers. Each one vetted.

  1. 01

    Spotters

Eyes on the scene. They never touch your hardware.

  2. 02

    Retrievers

Background-checked and trained before they move anything.

  3. 03

    Service engineers

Credentialed technicians who complete your training before they work on your machines.

sonr works alongside your current fleet partner. We cover what depot partners don't: a public number across brands, sidewalk robots and drones, and coverage in new cities from day one.

Questions

Before the first call.

Our fleet partner already handles roadside. Why sonr?

sonr covers what depot partners don't: one public number across brands, sidewalk robots and drones, and coverage in new cities from day one. We work alongside your partner.

These incidents are rare. Won't software fix them?

Software keeps getting better. Machines still stop, tip over and come down, and someone has to show up. In one night in San Francisco, a single fleet stopped 1,593 times.

Can gig workers safely handle our hardware?

Spotters never touch it. Retrievers are background-checked and trained. Service engineers are credentialed and complete your training before they work on your machines.

How do you keep our procedures private?

Your steps go only to the assigned person, for that job, under NDA. We're happy to sign a mutual NDA before the first call.

Does sonr make us compliant with AB 1777 or SB 1246?

sonr helps you meet on-scene needs. The legal duty stays with you, and your counsel should confirm the details.

Do we have to use your decals?

No. We can map your existing serial numbers into the registry.
