How we handle your information.
Plain words, short sections. Effective October 4, 2026.
Who we are
sonr is a search and recovery service for robotaxis, delivery robots, drones and humanoid robots. When one of these machines is stuck, crashed or down, people call or report it to us, and we send a member of our network to recover it for the company or individual that owns it. In this policy, "sonr", "we" and "us" mean sonr LLC. "You" means anyone who uses this website, calls our number or fills in one of our forms.
What we collect
We only collect what you give us, plus a few technical details every website receives.
When you report a machine
Where the machine is, what kind of machine it is, what you see, any code on the device, photos or video you choose to add, and your phone number so we can call or text you back. Your name and email are optional. If you tap "Use my location", we also receive your device's location for that report in order to more easily locate the machine.
When you join the network
Your name, mobile number, email, home ZIP code, the roles you're interested in, how far you'd travel, the apps you already drive for, your vehicle and gear, your skills and certifications if you're a service engineer, and when you're usually free. We do not ask for your Social Security number, driver's license, bank details or background on this website. Those steps come later, only if you continue, and only with your consent.
When you contact us as a fleet
Your name, work email, job title and company, plus what you tell us about your fleet, where it operates and how incidents go today.
Technical details
Like every website, our server receives your IP address and browser type when you visit. To stop abuse of our forms, we keep a scrambled, one-way version of the IP address with each submission, never the address itself. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell your information.
How we use it
- To recover the machine you reported, and to call or text you about that report.
- To review your request to join the network, tell you when sonr is active near you, and send you jobs if you become a member.
- To answer fleet inquiries and set up service.
- To keep records of each recovery for the machine's owner, insurers and police when they need them.
- To keep our forms and services safe, and to meet our legal duties.
Location
We only ask for your device's location when you tap "Use my location" on the report form. It's used to find the machine you reported. You can always type an address or landmark instead. Location is never placed in a web address.
Text messages
If you check the box to get texts, sonr will send recurring automated messages to the number you gave us: updates about your report, or nearby jobs and your account if you joined the recovery network. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Consent to receive texts is not required to report a machine or to join. The full text message terms are in our terms.
How long we keep it
We keep reports and recovery records as long as the machine's owner, insurers or the law need them. We keep network sign-ups while you're interested in joining, and we delete sign-ups that don't go ahead after a reasonable time. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described below.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. If you live in California, you have these rights under California law, including the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it, and we won't treat you differently for using them. Email us and we'll respond.
